When this book was written, it was intended for youngsters, but adults will glean a lot from it, too! Bruce and Stan's explanation of how God created the universe is intelligent, funny, entertaining and biblically acurate. Whether you are a kid or have kids, this informative book will discuss the hows and whys of God's creation plan (and where we fit into the big picture). It also highlights other questions you've always wondered about (I know I have.), but were too afraid to ask. Like: "Why doesn't the bible mention dinosaurs or cavemen?" and "Did God cause the "Big Bang?" Bruce and Stan have a wonderful, witty approach to the creation story. (Their one-liners are knee-slappers!) You'll not only learn how humans are set apart When God made us in His image, but you'll laugh out loud at the off beat humor in this book. With Bruce and Stan learning about God is FUN!

This book is good for anyone who would enjoy a child that is a mindless clone who questions nothing, but doesn't have time to do the actual brainwashing themselves. Just give them this book and then sneak out and hit up the bars. They'll be so busy absorbing this brain-acid they won't even notice you're gone.

This handy little book is designed for young readers. The book explains the creation through Old Earth Creationism - that is, that the Earth was created by God over millions of years through a rolling creation, and not through the process of evolution. Along the way, the reader is treated a lot of humorous cartoons, interesting analysis, and good theology.

But, where the rubber hits the road is this: what does a young reader think of it? Well, my thirteen year old son snatched the book away from me and read it through. He enjoyed it immensely. So, if you are interested in an Old Earth Creationism book for your young reader, one that is geared to his or her level, then this is the book for you. My son and I both highly recommend it.

About half of the pages in this book are devoted to theology for kids proselytizing Christianity. The other half tries to show how history and science are compressed into Genesis. Overall the book is badly written, and tries to convince the reader that old Earth creationism has been proven compatible with science. Don't waste your money.

When your child is using a workbook for a subject it is always helpful to have the Teacher's manual or Answer book especially after 3rd grade. This book has been a real help to me in checking lessons. I appreciate TMs that are accurate. Not all are. This one is very good. If your child is using the Student book be sure and get a copy of the answer book. Be sure the edition your student has and your teacher edition are the same.

This was one of the readers I used in second grade. These days, it would probably be assigned to first graders. It was written in the days before working moms and multicultural neighborhoods became commonplace in kids' books, but is a great model of family values and community and a healthy balance between work and play. Situations and illustrations are similar to Dick and Jane, but the text isn't too repetetive. When a new word is introduced, it reappears twice in the next few paragraphs. The stories are engaging: a mouse neglects housework so she can dance all night, a lady's upside-down cake lives up to its name, a boy overindulges on the treats he receives as 'wages' for helping in the store, a kitten gets a job, an unappreciated girl's prank backfires, a ditzy goose visits school on a mission but can't remember why. I suspect this book will appeal mostly to adults who remember it from their school days; it is a great addition to any collection of vintage children's books.

Although this book does have some great websites, it's finding them that I found to be the main problem. Easily 40% of the websites are outdated and no longer exist. If I hadn't of had the patience to literally go through every single website, the book would have been pratcially useless. With that in mind, the websites that I did find were GREAT and well worth sifting through the book to find them!

I could not believe the wealth of sources & ratings - and honesty, with which this book as been compiled. Great investment - even if you want to advance you own learning.

I purchased this book with grand expectations. I thought it would be a wealth of information to help me to educate my 5 year old and my upcoming 2 year old. Well, it started out great, but when I got to the websites, I went through several and found out they had either been removed, disconnected, or just simply did not exist. I thought it was a great idea in theory, so I wrote an email to the author explaining my situation. I had asked her if there was anything that she could suggest. In turn, I got an email back from her within a couple of hours, asking me when I had purchased the book (which was about 3 months ago), then she proceeded to tell me that a new edition had come out this past week, and if there was any websites out of the new edition that did not work, that she would get those to me right away. I emailed her back and explained I had purchased the book in June, but that I had written notes in it in the beginning so I knew I couldn't return the book. In turn, I got no response. I am very disappointed with my purchase, and ended up finding a curriculum that was within my budget, and so instead of buying this book and saying I wasted money on the first one, I put it towards the purchase of an up to date curriculum. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BOOK! YOU WILL REGRET IT!
